a soft, heavy mineral, PbMoO4, that is an ore of molybdenum and occurs usually as yellowish, tetragonal crystals; lead molybdate noun: a lead molybdate mineral, PbMoO4, occurring usually in tabular crystals, and varying in color from grayish to bright-yellow or red; yellow lead ore wulfenite in British English noun: a yellow, orange, red, or grey lustrous secondary mineral consisting of lead molybdate in the form of platelike tetragonal crystals. It occurs with lead ores and is a source of molybdenum. Formula: PbMoO4 |
