any of a group of acids produced by the combination of tungstic trioxide, WO3, with water; specif., the monohydrate acid, H2WO4 noun: a hydrate of tungsten trioxide, H2WO4⋅H2O, used in the manufacture of tungsten-lamp filaments tungstic acid in British English noun: any of various oxyacids of tungsten obtained by neutralizing alkaline solutions of tungstates. They are often polymeric substances, typical examples being H2 WO4 (orthotungstic acid), H2W4 O13 (metatungstic acid), and H10W12O14 (paratungstic acid) |
