a son of Mars and founder and first king of Rome, deified as Quirinus: he and his twin brother, Remus, left as infants to die in the Tiber, are suckled by a she-wolf noun: the founder of Rome, in 753 b. c., and its first king: a son of Mars and Rhea Silvia, he and his twin brother (Remus) were abandoned as babies, suckled by a she-wolf, and brought up by a shepherd; Remus was finally killed for mocking the fortifications of Romulus in British English noun: the founder of Rome, suckled with his twin brother Remus by a she-wolf after they were abandoned in infancy. Their parents were Rhea Silvia and Mars. Romulus later killed Remus in an argument over the new city |
