Miˈchel (miˈʃɛl ) Duc d'Elchingen, Prince de La Moskova 1769-1815; Fr. military leader under Napoleon I: executed Ney in British English noun: Michel (miʃɛl ), Duc d'Elchingen. 1769–1815, French marshal, who earned the epithet Bravest of the Brave at the battle of Borodino (1812) in the Napoleonic Wars. He rallied to Napoleon on his return from Elba and was executed for treason (1815) |
